Overview

textXchange is a web application that allows college students to sell or buy used textbooks from other students. Textbooks are often a major financial burden for studentswhich may cost upwards to hundreds or even thousands of dollars every semester. Once the semester is complete, these textbooks are rarely read again. The goal of textXchange is to offer students a marketplace to make some of their money back by selling their used books or allowing them to buy used books for their classes at a cheaper price.

Results

textXchange was built as a web application leveraging JavaScript frameworks such as Meteor, React, and Semantic UI. The application offers users the ability to create an account to post textbooks for sale or browse the market for textbooks to purchase. The market can be filtered according to courses for convenient searching.
